Case study · Event Rentals

From Squarespace template to a custom ecommerce site that ranks first page.

Signature Maui needed a real catalog + rental cart — Squarespace couldn’t carry it. We rebuilt the site as a custom WordPress + WooCommerce build that handles their full inventory, integrated SEO from day one, and they hit the first page for their top “Maui event rental” keywords inside the first quarter.

Mobile-first because that’s where the customers are.

Sixty-plus percent of Hawaii local-business searches happen on a phone. Every Digital Reach build ships fast on 4G with conversion CTAs above the fold.

“Shane just showed up with the design at our kickoff. We didn’t even ask about price — we just said yes. Best decision we’ve made.”

How we ran the play

The four moves behind the result.

  1. 01

    Custom design surprise drop

We showed up to the kickoff with a custom design concept they hadn’t seen yet. They were sold before we got to pricing — a useful hint that the visual gap from the old template was big enough to skip the proposal cycle.

  2. 02

    WooCommerce-powered rental catalog

Built the cart + inventory system around boutique wedding rentals (tables, glassware, signage, lighting). Filter by event size, date, package. Schema for every product.

  3. 03

    SEO + content cadence

Targeted “Maui event rental”, “Maui wedding rental”, “luxury Maui table rental” + ~12 long-tail variants. Page-one within a quarter. Now climbing on cluster long-tails.

  4. 04

    Family-network referral context

We knew the team through prior work with their family’s short-term-rental cottage business. The trust was earned before the project started — that\’s the kind of compounding we count on.

Family-network compounding

Family-network compounding — why it matters.

A lot of Hawaii business growth flows through family + community networks. Doing right by one client referring six others is the kind of compounding that keeps us off the cold-outbound treadmill.
